Imhotep and his lover Anck-su-namun lived in Egypt at the time of the Pharaoh Seti the First. After that, for more than three thousand years, they were dead - but not dead. Then, some people find them. O’Connell is a wild American soldier. Evelyn is a quiet, intelligent British woman; her world is books, not guns and fighting. In the Egyptian desert, O’Connell and Evelyn find Imhotep, and they also find love. But they don’t know Imhotep’s story. Will Imhotep and Anck-su-namun live again? And will that be the end of the world for all of us? Or will O’Connell, Evelyn, and their friends send them back to the dead?
